In this post, I will guide you on How To Unlock Admin User In Magento 2<\/strong>. You really want to log in to the admin panel but are prevented by your account is blocked due to some problem. This is really annoying, it will delay your work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are reasons you’ve been locked out of your account, which could be entering the wrong password multiple times or trying multiple failed requests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If your admin account is locked you will see an error message like following picture:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlock Admin User In Magento 2<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

1. Command line<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You can run the below command to unlock admin account:<\/p>\n\n\n

\nphp bin\/magento admin:user:unlock [username]\n<\/pre><\/div>\n\n\n
[username] is username of locked user<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For example:<\/p>\n\n\n
\nphp bin\/magento admin:user:unlock test\n<\/pre><\/div>\n\n\n
If successful, you can see the output like this:<\/p>\n\n\n
\nThe user account "test" has been unlocked\n<\/pre><\/div>\n\n\n
If the account is either not unlocked or if there was a problem, the output like this: <\/p>\n\n\n
\nThe user account "test" was not locked or could not be unlocked\n<\/pre><\/div>\n\n\n
And if the account doesn’t exist, you can see the output like this:<\/p>\n\n\n
\nCouldn't find the user account "test"\n<\/pre><\/div>\n\n\n
2. Admin Panel<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
1. Log in to\u00a0Admin Panel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
2. On the\u00a0Admin Panel<\/strong>\u00a0sidebar, go to\u00a0System > Permissions > Locked Users<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. To unlock for them, tick to box to choose users who you want to unlock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
