Designing the look and feel of your e-commerce store is one of the most important things in the store setup process. For the best customer experience, the right page layout needs to be optimized in accordance with your design ideas.

The layout of each page in your store consists of distinct sections, or containers, that define the header, footer, and content areas of the page. Depending on the layout, each page might have one, two, three columns, or more.

You can configure their defaults in the admin panel.

Steps To Configure Default Page Layout In Magento 2

1. Log in to Admin Panel.

2. On the Admin Panel sidebar, go to Stores > Settings > Configuration.

3. In the left panel, choose GENERAL > Web.

4. Expand the Default Layouts section.

5. Choose the Default Layout that you want to use for pages.

  • Default Product Layout.
  • Default Category Layout.
  • Default Page Layout.

The layouts are used by default for pages:

  • No layout updates.
  • Empty.
  • 1 column.
  • 2 columns with left bar.
  • 2 columns with right bar.
  • 3 columns.

6. When complete, click Save Config button.
