Magento 2: How To Disable Password Expiration

Magento 2 is an extremely popular e-commerce platform and is known for its extremely secure security. A useful security feature is to prompt users to change their password periodically. However, in some cases, it can be annoying. Therefore in this article, I will guide you How to Disable Password Expiration in Magento 2.

Note: We do not recommend disabling this security feature if you are using Magento for business and production.

How to disable password expiration

How to disable this feature is easy, follow the instructions below:

Step 1: Log in Admin Panel > STORES > Configuration

Step 2: Choose ADVANCED > Admin > Security

Step 3: Change the value in 2 lines of Password Lifetime (days) and Password Change

The default 2 lines will look like this

You leave unchecked and leave the value blank in the Password Lifetime (days) line to disable it.

Disable Feature

In case you put the value in the Password Lifetime (days) line, and the value of the Password Change line below is “Recommended”, it will not force you to change the password.

If the value of that line is “Forced”, you must change the password to access the Admin Panel.

Therefore, if the “Forced” method is uncomfortable for you, change that value.

So you have Disable Password Expiration in Magento 2, it’s easy right.
